Write Your Own Curriculum is a fun and easy read, perfect weekend reading. The author takes you into her family life and into the daily routine of her two sons. Through their many years of homeschooling the author demonstrates the different methods of education they utilized, providing a realistic view of the typical homeschooling family.
As you become aquainted with the O'Leary family the author gives detailed instructions on how to organize your homeschooling records and lesson plans. This is a very helpful book for those who aren't quite sure in what direction their recording keeping should go.
Perhaps more appropriately titled Write Your Own Lesson Planner, this book provides a rudimentary introduction to unit studies and calendar-based learning.
While this book is no longer in print, it is definately worth combing used book stores for.
