Outstanding, but toughSep 06, 2010 If you felt your 6th grade child was not getting enough word problems and not seeing enough problems with ratios and proportions, this book will give you both in spades. This book, however, is not for everyone. Most of the problems use 3 equations in 3 unknowns and use ratios. This book is for a student who wants to excel and a parent who has no problems doing algebra with his kid.
These are good problems, but maybe beyond the reach of the average American student. This book would be a challenge from many honor students. The answer in the back of the book is always correct. This book is a collection of problems with answers. There are explanations for each answer, but I don't need them so I cannot say if you will find them helpful.
For the average student I recommend Singapore Math Practice Level 5A because it has easier problems with ratios.
This book is a blessing for home schoolers and honor students.
