So after how much our two girls loved the Let's Rock Elmo doll and were always taking the included microphone away from Elmo we got them this much larger one to go with Elmo. It's got two buttons: a star shaped one to have Grover sing along with Elmo; and a gray oval one that has several Grover phrases.
Pros: Elmo will sing along with the Grove voice of this microphone
Does provide voice amplification when turned on.
Cons: was hoping for Elmo's voice not Grover's (girls don't care for/recognize Grover's voice)
(Big problem) It's pretty hard to get this microphone and Elmo to synch up: Elmo cannot be talking/signing if you want them to synch and the microphone must be fairly close to Elmo
Compared to the three instruments included with Elmo, I wouldn't bother spending the extra $15. Haven't tried the piano or guitar yet however.

My grandchild loved his Elmo and the accessories. It was worth the money getting the extras!!!It came in the mail promptly and when I moved the package it was singing. :)

As the title says- it absolutely drives me crazy- any toy from this rock and roll line is extremely loud and obnoxious but the kids love it. I bought it for my two year old and have a 9 month old as well. They both love it-we have the guitar as well. They are pretty durable to- nothing has broken or is working funny and the kids are rough with everything. I'm happy with the entertainment value of it. There is nothing educational about it- I mean my son repeats words from it- but actually learning anything this isn't it.

Returned. Was very disappointed because it was an Elmo/Sesame Street product. Tried brand new batteries but still did not work.

got this for my son for christmas to go along with the piano and elmo lets rock. he loves it and has so much fun with it. its proven to be very durable as well. lots of fun and works great with elmo.
