Fun game - easy to understandJan 27, 2010 I enjoy this game. I believe after several plays it'll still have staying power and be of interest later on. The concept is good and allows for some strategy. I would recommend this to others.
One note - we haven't tried this yet but I think it might be better with a timer. The end game gets bogged down a bit and sometimes people just take too long to think about their next move. A timer would get the game moving a bit better and offer a bit more excitement. As it is, with full complement of players, it can take 45-60 minutes. (Granted, this is with kids 11 and younger.)

A BLAST for the whole family!Jan 25, 2010 I bought this game for our family for New Year's. I knew I wanted to buy Qwirkle but was torn on which version to get. I purchased this version since it sounded like it was a little more challenging and you could roll the dice which would change the outcome of your hand. My 3 boys (ages 10, 8 and 6) love this game as do me and my husband. I was amazed at how quickly my 8 year old caught on to the strategy of the game. My six year old gets it too but I usually have to help him out a little. My boys usually come home from school and want to play a game of Qwirkle. It is a game that can be played in less than an hour and it is fun! It does require some thinking which I appreciate as a mom. I highly recommend this game!!!

Quirkle packaging leaves much to be desiredJan 18, 2010 I bought this game for 2 people for Christmas. Am disappointed that the way the package was made there is really no way to close the box once taken out of shrinkwrap!

New twist on dominoes.Jan 01, 2010 As a child I loved playing dominoes by the hour with my grandmother. Now I get a similar pleasure in playing a "jazzed up" version of the game with my own grandchildren. We gave this gift to 7 and 8 year olds and they jumped right in. However, I'm now thinking of buying one to keep at home so my husband and I can enjoy it when they are not here.

Well suited for 7-9 year oldDec 30, 2009 My son wanted this game when he saw it in a catalog, but we had no idea how to play. It took a couple of rounds for everyone to get the rules down but it's really very different and fun to play. I was also surprised by the quality of the cubes and the nice carrying bag it came with.
