A MUST HAVE --Feb 25, 2010 This book has everything to help you design your own homeschool curriculum. But, it also has many goals to strive for, so that as you go through the year, you can check on the subject and grade level for your child and see how they are measuring up and if you need to review or add to the curriculum you have already been using. This is especially useful for home schoolers that use an eclectic approach and not a pre-packaged curriculum. My only wish is that she would publish a newer version!
A Wealth of InformationJan 30, 2010 I have to admit I was stressed out originally when I read this book. It has SO MUCH information that you can very easily put pressure on yourself as a homeschooler. I homeschool both my children (7 & 6) and I want to be certain that I'm not leaving any "holes" in their education. The first year I literally tried to do EVERYTHING! I know, lame right? My kids and I were pulling our hair out! This year I wised up and realized that this book is a GUIDE, it gives suggestions.
I recommend this book wholeheartedly, just remember that you cannot do everything!
Great, concise bookJan 23, 2010 This book is fantastic. Concise, full of ideas and benchmarks. A great foundation for your home school curriculum.
Excellent!Oct 29, 2009 I usually am not the type to review anything but this book impressed me so much I'm compelled to share my opinion with others. I am new to homeschooling and have looked and studied a lot of resource books, some which are pretty good too but can be bit overwhelming but this is really excellent, simple yet well laid out, concise and complete. Yes, there are some resources in it that are now outdated but there is still so much information to use that I highly recommend this book to new homeschooling parents.
love it!Aug 22, 2009 this is not a curriculum, but rather, it's a point of reference. it give you an *idea* of what to cover throughout each year divided by grade level. rebecca rupp offers an excellent guide with resource suggestions. i rely on this book each year for homeschooling my 2 children. for my family, it is a "must". hope this helps someone.
