Teach Me Some Greek! teaches biblical Greek to preschoolers and older students (even adults enjoy it) using a combination of deductive, inductive, and interactive methodology presented in a workbook format. This easy-to-use workbook requires no prior knowledge of Greek. Upon completing this series, your student will have an understanding of koine (biblical) Greek. This understanding will be demonstrated in reading comprehension and writing skills. In addition, your student will have the tools to pursue his or her own study in the Greek New Testament and can combat incorrect theology based on faulty exegesis. An expanding Greek vocabulary extends your student's English vocabulary through an understanding of roots. Finally, the grammatical structure your student will learn will better prepare him or her to study other foreign languages. In the Level Two workbook, students learn their first Greek vocabulary words. These words form the foundation for future study in Greek grammar. Older students and adults can start in Level Two or Level Three. Primary students may want to start in Level One. | | | Product Details: | | | Author:

Great Intro to NT Greek for KidsSep 17, 2005

We used Book 1 in Kindergarten with my daughter. Book 2 does a quick review of the alphabet and then starts building vocabulary words. And the way that the Andrew series is written, it makes no assumption that the teacher knows Greek, but a Teacher's Guide is available through the publisher if you need it.
My daughter is thrilled with the thought that she's learning the original language of the Bible. I learned Greek in seminary and in my opinion, every Christian should learn it. It's no harder than learning spanish in high school. And believe it or not, Greek is actually very practical because a lot of English words have their roots in Greek.
I would especially recommend Andrew if you are using the Well-Trained Mind method of homeschooling. You can probably safely start book 1 after your child has truly mastered the English alphabet.
