Copywork for little girls is geared toward grades 1-3. For younger children they are appropriate for simple copying, but as the child progresses they move into dictation, where you will read the quote, poem, or Bible verse to them and they will write it. This is not only good practice for copying but teaches the child valuable character lessons as well. | | | Product Details: | | | Author:

I Will Order This AgainMar 13, 2010
By Mom of Six This is an excellent, consumable resource for the mom or teacher who wants to implement Charlotte Mason style copy work lessons, without having to write out the text herself each day. Each line of text in the book has a blank line right beneath it for the child to write on. Makes copy work so simple and easy for both mom and younger girls.
The selections chosen are beautifully written, allowing girls to develop a taste for excellent writing while learning to use the mechanics of proper punctuation and grammar by example. If you desire more overt grammar instruction, i.e. "this is a noun," you will need to supplement with other materials.
The copy in the Amazon post does not make it clear, but the book contains content and instruction on character that will most appeal to the Christian family or school that has a traditional, Biblical worldview. If you believe that boys and girls are basically the same and ought to be taught exactly the same things, perhaps another book might seem better to you. There is also a similar book for young boys that looks very good.

Copywork for Little GirlsAug 10, 2011
By concha I was disappointed when I opened this package. For the price of this tiny, 30 page, "old-school" spiral bound workbook, it is not worth the money. The content is great, however, I was hoping there would be efficient space for one to practice and improve either printing or writing in cursive. I looks like I will have to pull out more paper and then store it in another notebook. So much could be done to make this workbook more appealing for the student. To me it seems that it is put together poorly and no thought has been put in the overall book, apart from content. I was putting together these type of spiral bound books over 12 years ago in a library. Today, there are more printing options available and I feel more could be done with this program. If the content was openly available on line, one could print this out for under $3.00 at a store or much cheaper at home, allowing one to create more space for the actual writing.
